Lil Wayne & Young Money Launches Prepaid Debit Cards

Lil Wayne’s Young Money label is moving beyond music, and into the financial world with the launch of their own YM-branded debit card.

News of this card were first revealed in October 2010, when Young Money label president Mack Maine popped up on various blogs holding one of the first samples of the new debit cards.

A year after the news surfaced, the YM debit cards are here, as revealed a new vlog on Weezy’s website (WeezyThanxYou.com).

The YM debit card is a pre-paid option, released via a partnership with Discover, allowing anyone to obtain credit card capabilities without a pre-credit check.

“Get some wisdom for your wallet and take control of your financial future with Young Money Debit Cards,” the website reads. “They are convenient, secure and a better alternative to credit cards since you only spend what you load.”

Like all pre-paid cards, you must fill the account with your own cash, before you spend it. You can add cash to your card through direct deposit, MoneyPak, online reload, and even directly depositing your tax refund.

“Smart. Stylish,” the website boasts.

There are a few fees involved, which are also stated on the website, including a one-time purchase fee, a reload free, a “Monthly Maintenance” free, and an ATM withdrawal fee, among others. For more info, visit YoungMoneyCards.com.
